ACTIVE RECOVERY REHABILITATION

Injury can have a significant effect on the physical, emotional and financial status of an individual. Injury may lead to loss of income; an inability to participate in social and recreational activities; and ultimately a reduction in one’s quality of life.

Fairfield City Leisure Centres aims to provide the injured individual with superior facilities, education and expertise to facilitate a complete recovery for the client.

OUR PROGRAM & FACILITIES

Fairfield City Leisure Centres offers four programs to assist and speed the client’s recovery

  • Work Conditioning Program (one to one, and may include Hydrotherapy and/or gym based activities)
  • Group Hydrotherapy (limited to 10 participants)
  • Cardiac Care Program
  • G.P. Referral Care Plan – Exercise physiologists with Medicare provider number.

The programs are conducted at Prairiewood, Fairfield, and Cabravale Leisure Centres. All Centres have a fully equipped gymnasium and heated pool. Prairiewood Leisure Centre features an ozone system operated pool with beach access. Cabravale Leisure Centre’s pool is heated to 32 degrees Celsius.

QUALIFIED STAFF

Fairfield City Council’s Exercise Physiologists have tertiary qualifications in Exercise Science and are Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP).

  • Staff have extensive knowledge of human biomechanics and the body’s response to physical activity and are:
  • ESSA accredited Exercise Physiologists SIRA approved
  • Medicare approved
